Saying goodbye to our condo and moving forward

It was definately a bitter sweet day. We were sad to leave that part of our lives behind. This is our first condo and we have enjoyed living there for the past four years. But at the same time we were excited to be moving forward.

On March 1st we officially became landlords and our very first tenant moved in. This is just another step completed that brought us much closer to our departure date of April 2nd. Both of our last days of work are March 27th and as the date quickly gets closer we realize that there are many small things to do in preparation for this trip. Don't get us wrong, we're not complaining! It's all part of the fun of planning for a trip of this magnitude.

Just a little about our trip

To Our Family and Friends
Welcome to our Travel Blog!

A year ago this trip was only a distant dream to us, really far away from our reality at the time. We knew that we wanted to travel and experience what the world had to offer, but with work and owning a condo we didn't know if it was possible. But as we discovered, if you want something bad enough all you have to do is set your mind to it. And if you know me, once the idea is in my head its hard to get the idea out! So after much though and careful planning, we were able to achieve our goal of travelling.

So here we are now, teetering on the verge of a new stage in our lives. For the next 7 months we plan on travelling to South America and South East Asia.

We invite you to follow along with our jouney.

Our Motivation to Travel...

What would drive two people to drop everything, jobs - condo - animals - FAMILY, all for an adventure?? What a great question....

When we went travelling last February to India and Thailand, it gave us the travel bug. As our lives moved from young adults to just plain ol' adults we realized that we are on the cusp of all this becoming impossible instead of tough!! We had revelations in our lives and with our families that made us realize that the standard template of life (work, fall in love, work, get married, work, buy house, work, have kids, work, grow older, retire, live life together) can be altered to suite our needs, our desires and not what everyone else's are or should be.

So we are travelling again and this time it's a longer length of time and many, many more countries. Join our real world adventure by following it digitally remastered for your viewing pleasure!!
